Hello there , I am pranab , currently working as an electrical engineer in a construction firm in Oman . I wanted to pursue my masters in electrical engineering in Germany . But unfortunately I missed out the dead line for Rwth . Now I am focusing on TUM and Rostock unv . However , my toefl score is completely disaster . I scored only 79 in my last test . Can you please suggest me , what I should do further to improve my chances for a admission into German unv . My profile stated below . BE (Electrical Electronics Engineering ) – 7.2 cgpa Toefl – 79 Work exp – 8 years

The foremost thing which comes to my attention  here is applying for masters after a gap of 8 long years.

As much as the academics seem decent, but you can see that the TOEFL score is quite low.  Also the universities which the candidate is aiming for like RWTH, Rostock, TUM have a very intensive curriculum and look for candidates who have recently completed their education. They have a tendency to doubt the potential of a candidate with such profile as to whether he will cope up with the studies or not, after having such a huge gap after the bachelors. Such courses are too ambitious for this candidate.

I would suggest here that you should consider applying to Applied Sciences which have technical management kind of courses and are equally equipped with good opportunities.
